These weary hands this shade of indigo
Tell stories of the depth of my history and labor
I tell it silently everywhere I go
My smile hides the pain of God's favor
Envious they have been of my regality
My duty has been to civilize this planet
My love overflows hates principality
The world enjoys my gifts and takes me for granted
Listen to these indigo lips as they speak
See my ankles stress from holding all this weight
My eyes show the hope that you all seek
My back is strong and will not break
My children are infectious you mimic and you learn
You pattern your design after sketches
I never ask for anyone to die or to burn
All my prayers request that God only protect us
Closest thing on this planet to heaven's nectar
Drips from the nipple of an indigo breast
Scriptures from Imhotep to Hector
Show how the indigo presence has truly blessed
Earth, Sun and Moon reflect my brilliance
Another people like mine you will not find
Superseding the call to arms is our resilience
Just call this an "Indigo state of mind..."
