You can be a fan
Just don't be fanatical
It's not practical
But it's factual
As American as baseball and apple pie
Is violence
Just like the silence
Against the evidence
Of this selfish act
That was senseless
So presently since he has lost his voice
Because of his choice of teams
I'll speak out against this nightmare
While he dreams
We are close in age
Both with daughter and son
You shouldn't be afraid to go to a game
Because we are for different sides, I shouldn't have to run
And this is not for play
And nothing we can say
Can take the actions away
What they live with today
What they did to another family
Could have happened to you or me
Currently we want him to be strong
We want him to hold on
This was about baseball
Now its about humanity
Wherever an innocent person falls
Its affects you and me
No child should hope their parent remembers them
No parent should be in a position to loose their child
No person that knows any of the aggressors should harbor them
The conscious of one of you should be running wild
We have all had our emotions overcome us
Some in joy and some in grief
We all should respect the teams we love
What has happened here is beyond belief
No matter how we try
We will find no reason why
Hopefully we can see our selves and our own lives
When we see a passerby
