The End

I had no problem loving her
She was my best friend

None of it was pretend

Neither was her anger

Why was she always mad at me?
I was committed
I was in above my head

I had no problem loving her
But I think if I stayed
I'd end up dead

There was so much passion
But maybe not enough compassion

Not our fashion

She wanted everything right now
And right now I was trying to heal
I was tying to see if there was a reason to be
A reason to hold on

Intimately we had learned each other
But my relationships implode because
I don't want to stay too soon

I won't bring my son into this again

I thought she was the one

I was ready to marry her but
She was not ready to be calm
She definitely didn't see
Her taking out her frustrations on me

And still I stayed
And still today I won't hate her

I just love myself enough to see
That her anger won't let us be friends

So now I don't pretend
That it's ending

That her smile and great memories
Probably won't be enough

That I had failed in letting her know
I would do anything to see her in control

But she can not be around me
Without looking for reasons to cause confusion
She has been acclimated to start agitation
She needs to be true to her name

Deeply inked in her skin as a mantra
It may work for someone else

Not for me

I have to have some control over my life

I'll have to head my family
I'll have to have some decision making power
When it comes to my children
Especially when I'm not around

I'd love to have someone I can share the crown
I won't ever be the clown
I won't take a few months of calmness to mean change
I won't look away at the anger that keeps surfacing
It's as if she is waiting to be invited in again
To kill me

And I can not let that happen again

I believe what she said
And I only have to be told once
My children need me here in one piece

I don't trust her anymore
And she won't do those things to show she can be trusted
She wants everything changed right now
When right now I have been too hurt by the years of abuse
So I am prepared to strike back
And those results are dismal at best for the two of us
And will prevent us from seeing forever
And I'm not willing to risk my life for love

I won't be able to breathe her remorse
If I am dead
Although this separation is killing parts of me now
I am so disappointed I could not convince her
That I am my own man and I was for her

The cost of loosing a love and a friend
Can never be paid in any wage

I have very few friends
And even fewer loves that are not my kin
So begin the wade in the water of my own decisions

Life is not as fun without you
But at least I am alive
And one day I'll really live again
I am now just existing

I want you to leave me alone

I want us to forget about us

I want to heal

I want to live again

I tried all I could

Now I have to try without you

Don't try and help me anymore

Your intentions seem insincere
And internally I am running out of tears
I am tired of your snapping
I am tired of your temper tantrums
I have grown tired of you

Your existence no longer brings happiness to me
Because I feel the good times are just a lure
And you think you can cure our ills with events
We can spend a weekend and change years of torment

All I can see is you loosing control
And not caring at that moment
That all of my work and means to compete
Were in your hands
And because you were hurt
You felt like you could take that away from me
My children needed to suffer because I loved you
Because I had you close enough to me
To destroy my means of feeding us
You wanted to walk away and have me hurting
Financially, spiritually and emotionally
Because you don't understand
Leave now because you have not listened
You have not accepted that
This is not how you treat a person you love

Your love is abusive and neglecting

You listen but you don't hear me

I have exhausted every means to reconcile

Now I close this chapter on you

Before your anger gets you to claim I owe you again

I owe you nothing

You owe yourself the decency to heal and be better

You were always beautiful to me
No matter what anyone ever thought
And that was enough for me
They did not have to have you and love you
We were a couple
And I could care less

Now I have to have that same attitude to you

Because its obvious you and I don't know how to be friends

Coffee for Coffey

She was dark as coffee but as sweet as chocolate
The last time I saw her she made my heart flutter
Her smile radiated our future
I left with her in my mind and on my lips
Could i sip from her again and not be changed
I think not so I surrender to her force
Her voice angelic and full of hope
Her hands soft and touching deeper than my skin
I am glad I met her
Not the saga begins..

My Perfect Drug

I wouldn't want to be in the shade of my life
Without you in it as my light
Against my own advice

I stand in the wind with attitude
Although I know I have no room
Because my mind's consumed

My perfect drug
Is a hug
From a woman
That belongs to
Another man
But understand
Where I stand
She's just right for me
Because I love
Incompletely
Can't you see
So she completes me

Fever ran from my lips
And the smoke may have clouded my vision
Still, it's my decision

She gives me space when she's at home
I know I'm confused don't rub it in
On some things you can't depend

My perfect drug
Is a hug
From a woman
That belongs to
Another man
But understand
Where I stand
She's just right for me
Because I love
Incompletely
Can't you see
So she completes me

O.K. I feel like a fool at times
But what has ever really been mine
Most times they tire and leave anyway

So she never really means what she says
I lie to myself everyday when I say
I know where we go when we die but I don't

My perfect drug
Is a hug
From a woman
That belongs to
Another man
But understand
Where I stand
She's just right for me
Because I love
Incompletely
Can't you see
So she completes me

Your Love Is a Blasphemy

My days here as a mystery
To think of all you mean to me
I'd love to join this legacy
Of you to me

The fallen walls have tore me down
I only live inside my sound
I placed myself in hallowed ground
In you I'm free

Your Love is just a Blasphemy
All against the god in me
No heaven we will ever see
Your Love is just a Blasphemy

You don't believe in this place
You can't erase our fate
The faith we had could not be safe
You don't hold me

I've broken from your poison cell
And swam away from your hell
But something in your smell
Still reminds me

Your Love is just a Blasphemy
All against the god in me
No heaven we will ever see
Your Love is just a Blasphemy

Single raindrops fill the clouds
I don't want to hold you down
I would rather flood you now
I would rather slowly drown...

I die inside myself each day
And no matter how much that I pray
I won't change the way
You are always

Reborn in your womb too soon
I miss the sun so I kiss the moon
It all begins when I bloom
You don't need me

Your Love is just a Blasphemy
All against the god in me
No heaven we will ever see
Your Love is just a Blasphemy

Forgotten Love

I forgot I left love inside of you
Will you keep it for me until I retrieve it?
Or will you share it with a stranger
Who won't appreciate it as I do

If it was appreciated how could it be forgotten she says
But sometimes you purposely repress your vulnerability
Its easier to see around and issue than to work it out
My issue has been one of humility

My science has logically rules out the magic of us
The parts we can't explain
Like the times when you come when you smell me
And I am not there physically, but just as stong

Neglect

She was in love with him then
And she had decided
That she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him
But that was before all of the neglect

The neglect that let her turn her neck
And see me
I mean really see me for who I am
And who he is not

He's like a lot of us
We forget how precious what we have is
How specialized her kiss becomes
And how we become different for them
Until we forget about them
And we forget the rules

If she is unhappy then she will look for happy
Even in another man's bedroom
Turned their sanctuary
Their secret place of meditation and mediation
He lets her file her grievance with him
And he always judges in her favor

She is always correct
And she wins here
And she is rewarded
What he neglected to touch
Here it is never missed
Here she learns of sensuality

The juice of all of her lips
Drips from his
Experimentation and relaxation
In these stolen moments she again feels whole
But they both think that this will end abruptly
And that they both will end up hurt

Can they be in love when its outside the boundaries
When its forbidden in good society
When its a feeling or emotion they don't speak of publicly
Privately its blissful
Sharing it together bonds them

If the world finds out
The beginning will out shine the end
There is no pretend
Only presents as gifts for her nature
His nature bare and inside of her
Separating what she had once with her man

Painful Separation

When you are not alone but you are lonely then you will see where I have been
And you can see why I don't want to stay here
Whether there is a vacancy or not I have not forgot
Love may have never lived here
It may have just visited and passed like seconds before a minute

Deep in it I wanted to plunge but I knew better
Her actions always confused her speech
At each peak i questioned the valley
I may have cast my own net over myself
And set the stones on the edges as I drowned in her

The edges of our lips touched
And I longed to smell her breath
The heat from her body made me warm
The though of her now makes my stomach jump
It is as if I was inside of her for longer than a year

If she dies then she takes small parts of me with her
Her spirit will plague me with nothing but doubt
I intertwine my heartbeat with her pathway
Our rhythm changes but syncopates
I lost the melody when she left

Who among us can say they are not alone but they are lonely
Many who have felt my touch and are not wrapped in denial
For once you have felt my passion, he will pale in intensity
Like you for me permanently
Is this why I run away just as fast as you came

Remember my name because she is a Judas to my discipline
As arrogant as Iblis that would not bow down to Adam
Distant but so attractive
I can never forget you or what you've done
And we have just begun our separation

Divorced from the idea that we no longer find agreement
Is some way I have failed as a man because you refused to follow
I float on my own recognition that I am comforting myself
Alive to so many as the one who would not give into you
All the while I am so dead and cold inside

This separation hurts
But I have to love me more than I love you
I have to have faith that whatever is removed from my life
I can replace and receive something better
I have to take my time

I can't keep sleeping because I awake to the aches
I always pray for strength but I know I am too strong
This is what got me in this position
This is why I can't go back to you
This is why I'll be fine as I move on

In the future you'll see that I was right
You'll miss me as I have missed you
And we will both see each other on somewhere
And our arrogance will not allow us to be vulnerable
But in your eyes I will see... and you will know

You will always miss me...

Sensibility Disregarded

My fever needs medication
My medicine needs an invitation
My invitation needs timing
My timing needs opportunity
My opportunity needs to be welcome
My welcome needs to come from you

You are what I am seeking
The fulfillment of a prescription no doctor can write
The ending of a chapter I have written
The anticipation of something forbidden
You made yourself available
And damned me with the taste of your love

Rivers

Ice melted in drops
Seeping through rock and mountain
Too deep to cross here

Boy

He never leaves her
She wishes separation
She nods and says no

Girl

She never leaves him
He is plagued by her feeling
She makes him too high

Empty Building

Rusted frames broken
Brick hanging dangerously
Someone sleep inside

The Hundreds

Bloodstained streets never washed
Homicide common neighbor
Blue lights help no one

Poor city

Buses pollute air
People spend more than they earn
Gunshots ricochet

Autumn

Colors generate
Hues sway in contrast to sky
Silence, no birds stayed

Future Times For Present

The pendulum keeps moving forward
My last statement unverifiable until a later date
To prove my love is unending
It should last past my existence

So the relevance of this idea
Wont be clear until I finish life
Until my seeds sown express its purpose
Heeded to what was declared preceding

Evolving as we grow, my daily task it shall be
To penetrate our existence and glow
Radiate; through the sharing of our emotions
Our children will speak of these lessons one day

Fall

Represented leaf
Reproducing famously
Empty branches sigh

Wind

Bending over self
Squinting eyes shielded by hand
Surprised by the air

Summer

Heat from distances
Warms skin closer than sky can
Remembering birth

Rain

Water from the Sky
Slippery, wet and shines
Bitter on the soil

Snow

When I see the cold snow
Barren trees push the sun through
Reflects empty hearts

Catastrophic Magnitude

The earth shook

The buildings fell

The people trapped and crushed in their sleep

The children lay dead in the street

Those who made it out now had no place to stay

No food to eat nor water

Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters

All helpless, dependent and interdependent

These proud people with Dessalines in their genes

Paying for practicing what the free world declared

The slaves revolted and took their independence

Made Napoleon give up his land in America

Still for a loosing cause

Soon the spirit of the Maroons will have to come

But this is a different attack

This did not come from someone that hates you

This came by nature

Natural causes

All of these dead from natural causes

A disaster area, a catastrophe

Many of us only could see through the lenses of those on ground

We cold not smell the dead rotting in the sun

We could not hear the screams for help

Nor feel the heat

We could see the pain

We did understand that this was beyond serious

Curious as to how anyone there could smile dance or play

Astonished that so many were even more steadfast in prayer

God must be angry here somewhere

But tell me how else would the world even care about

People they have never cared about

People they let drown in the ocean before they would let them come to shore

Off of make shift boats, that were barely afloat

Surely just the idea that they would risk their life to get a better life

Must have shown some of the urgency

Emergency now to give aid

Its out here in front of the world

Not even the most callous can be that shady to watch a baby die

And not feel the desperation

But if you are not Haitian

If you are not in Haiti

You can turn your TV.

Pick and choose to remember when it’s on the news

Even as I speak

Someone right now seeks shelter

Someone right now needs food

Tell me how do we help when it seems like

Mother Nature has an attitude

What will we do to help and assist

To resist and persist

Against this

Catastrophic Magnitude

Still the wonderful smiles and colors surround

And their spirit will not be smothered by their pain

Over 300,00 dead

Over 1 million homeless

But they still find a reason to sing

Bring the buckets to gather the water and share it

Bring the masses to come see a people still undefeated

Full of the sounds and dances of the future

The worst has past

The sun still shines

There is much work to do

And no time to complain

Their faith is even stronger

L’Union Fait La Force

Unity Makes Strength

So it just makes sense

That Haiti will come together again

And show the world

The definition of independence

And all of humanity’s need

For Interdependence

And no Magnitude

However Catastrophic

Can ever

Stop this

Think Pink

How do you get your body
To fight what's in your body?

Wade water long enough to stay afloat
Until the cure come like a boat and deliver you past this present condition?

Pause when the doctor enter and listen
Hoping to hear the word remission

I've been put in this position

Tot try and strengthen my aunt for a transplant
But none of that happened

So I let her go
But held on to her memories

I found when I buy roses and dry them upside down they last longer

This malady will make your faith stronger

Get this
I have never seen a sick atheist

Not believing in a Higher Power is only the thought of a healthy mind

Not even a wealthy mind

Can buy more time

The choice is cut off a piece of your body
To save the rest of your body

And nobody that is somebody really cares

It's just hair

And they can stare because with all you are carrying
You are still beautiful!

So I think pink
Sink deeper than this ink

Walk for you
Donate time and money

And put in a lot of effort until we beat this
Like "That was just like Polio"

It can be done
It will be done

I'm an optimist
The oncologists can concur this - with the help of the Lord

I've lost a lot to it
Maybe the location of the mill helped to kill some

The air may be dirty

But a job in the Coke plant can help you get that
House, car and tuition for college or private school

So what can you do?

Change her diet...
Tried it...

Still gotta work
No medicine is provided for free

This country don't care if a woman gets sick
They are more preoccupied if a dog is abused by Mike Vick

If Monica Lewinski is still...

Or if Ben Laden is plotting

Your struggle will not be forgotten

The future of a nation is judged by the character of the woman
And coming from a man that's on the outside that has watched your stand

I feel that the future is in good hands...

Indigo

These weary hands this shade of indigo

Tell stories of the depth of my history and labor

I tell it silently everywhere I go

My smile hides the pain of God's favor

Envious they have been of my regality

My duty has been to civilize this planet

My love overflows hates principality

The world enjoys my gifts and takes me for granted

Listen to these indigo lips as they speak

See my ankles stress from holding all this weight

My eyes show the hope that you all seek

My back is strong and will not break

My children are infectious you mimic and you learn

You pattern your design after sketches

I never ask for anyone to die or to burn

All my prayers request that God only protect us

Closest thing on this planet to heaven's nectar

Drips from the nipple of an indigo breast

Scriptures from Imhotep to Hector

Show how the indigo presence has truly blessed

Earth, Sun and Moon reflect my brilliance

Another people like mine you will not find

Superseding the call to arms is our resilience

Just call this an "Indigo state of mind..."

Dear Daddy

They say Mama's Baby - Pappa's Maybe
My relationship with my son is gravy
With my daughter shady
And I hate the separating
And I'm not celebrating
On how they undervalue the role of a father
In the child's life
It's so easy to play me
My father took care of his wife's kids
And neglected to raise me
I ain't let it phase me
I used to see my granddaddy daily
And he taught me to do for self
And I was alone with him as he took his last breath
I stepped into another existence
And insist that a daddy has to be persistent
A parent is for direction
And a grand parent is for wisdom
If one is missing then one is missing
They'd be a lot less niggas in gangs and prison
If their daddy's would have played their position
They getting they sagg on to get your attention
That it's depressing when daddy's gone
Listen

Hear the pain in the songs
Little man child getting his "I'm Grown" on
Cause their daddy ain't home
But only when we dead and gone
Should we have to stand strong alone
And I pray my seeds keep me in their hearts
And spark some kind of light in societies' thoughts
Cause we are not expendable
A father's an intricate part of every individual

I swear they try to deny how important it is for me
To be in the life of my kids
I need more respect that to just be a check
I wasn't just a dick is what I say in retrospect
As she roll her neck
We roll and flick
Our seeds love us both
Why make them pick
Its this type of shit that makes us sick
Roll around paranoid with full clips
Sick of your lips

After 9 months of waiting
To see the sex that I gave it
Stuck around
I can't trust the ultra sound
If we ain't married then I'm at the birth
By permission
Under specific conditions
And no petitions can change this position
I've been wishing to see standard traditions
But it's hard to push for any of the above
If the love is missing
I mean I have love for her
But not in love with her
And since she ain't getting what she wants
She makes it difficult for me to be in the picture
See I'm prepared for the new mister
To come and give you a sister or brother
And I recognize his is only in my child's life
Because of his relationship with my seed's mother
Our children have to know we love them
Male or female
Kiss 'em and hug 'em
Not only show them but tell them
You love 'em
I put plenty of time in with mine
Don't stress your mind
You see the signs
And it ain't gon change at no time
You'll alwyas hear the same line
Don't be mad at us "B"
All the little children that have us in their lives say
"I want my daddy"

Mother (For My brother Khalif...)

I would not be half the man I am if I didn’t learn to stand by those gentle hands

If she didn’t take the time to give me milk and meat for thought to settle my soul

Life takes its toll and asks that we give everything we love back

But her love never leaves me

It’s as close as the air that we breathe, believe me

What do you see in me that is not of my mother

Smothered me with kisses and gentle touches

Came through for me so many times that I’m internally and externally grateful

A plate full of more than small morsels is what she fed me to keep me ahead B

A strong torso I have developed and enveloped my teachings to show in the way I walk

As I talk you can see the eloquence of a queen’s means

And I don’t want to disrespect her teachings even in thought

I owe her all of my compassion because it was fashioned in a way that I didn’t notice until she left me

I am never lonely nor alone because I understand she is in my bones

She protected in private what she would later expose to the world

See, she delivered me and changed the course of the universe

At least for me

First steps, first words heard, even acceptance when I grew older and my words and vision slurred

All she ever heard was her child speaking

And all I ever saw was my mother and I was seeking her approval

Even when she wasn’t looking

And I have more compassion for my woman to ever compare them in anything

Especially how she cared for me, appreciates me or their cooking

My mother is something special

I know you only have one and when it’s all said and done

And you are alone and looking at the world through the eyes she created

The brain that she made and the law that she laid

The information you use now to insure that your children don’t misbehave

Or become a slave of their impulses or senses that God gave

Even after all of this we still want to be selfish and keep her forever

Well remember she’s taught you forever is as long as you remember her

So now you have to pass down those soft sounds of her voice that lifted you up when you were down

To encourage you to do more than you thought you did

No matter how old you get you will always be her baby

That’s not shady or shameful or embarrassing in fact it makes you proud now

Breaks you down too somehow but you still never bow down

See mamma made a man and she told this man that I can do whatever I will

I have too many skills to fulfill every dream that she had of me during her pregnancy

And my legacy will be afforded to me because of she

My mother protected me then projected me to see infinity

And plenty can envy me because as you can see I acknowledge that she truly loved me

And thusly, I love my self and what she has done because nothing else felt like her kiss and her smile felt

Thinking about it now makes my insides melt

My eyes swell, but oh well, what can we do but pass on these sweet memories

So that she is a part of everything that we do…

Momma I will never forget you and I love you…

It’s true your baby boy has grown into a man so strong

And because of you – I’ve got my own and I’ll never be alone…

Watch over me until my dying day…this I pray

Live in Peace or Exist in Pieces

Live in peace or exist in pieces
A simple thesis

The Negro had an affinity for everything other than its own
Thats why they were never respected anywhere not even in their homes

They gave up everything they had to strangers and identified them with their lives
They must have felt that not one of them survived or had any pride

My mind never left them
My manuscript shows it

The history of our victory will be here so our grandchildren can expose it
The relevance of our eloquence is to be judged at a time in the future

We have elevated past the times when we were on the block killing our own
And rejoiced in the atmosphere of recklessness where anyone could shoot ya'

I've seen them prostitute ya' pollute ya' then redistribute ya'
Cut you up silently then blame you for their incisions and charge you for the sutures

I've seen this before, visitors come in and act like they residents
Vilify the citizens then leave once they got enough dead presidents

We are not your stepping stones, this is hallowed ground
We are not your flunkies or less than you ever, how the hell that sound

No matter who pledges allegiance to a stranger over their own
That person will be isolated amongst their people when the stranger is gone

I've traveled the planet and felt at home many places but my depth of perception was limited
No matter how long I stayed I never played like I was not just visiting

I respected the place and expressions and the people
Never tried to make myself seem superior and others inferior

People come into our spaces all of the time and set up shop
Sell us hair, t-shirts and their fair share of food and desserts and what not

Give us mediocre products and tell us that it's what's hot
And we abandon the thought of self reliance in our own spot

See there are no stores available for you and I to purchase on purpose
They'd rather have the whole city abandoned - black buying power makes them nervous

They'd rather have them serve us while they live in other places
So many days I wished I could wake up to some friendly faces

Even the liquor stores are owned by other people nowadays
Order something other than something common and they look at you like "what you say"

They are too good to live in the hood
But the hood is very good to them -this is understood

We fragment into different sets
It seems we still can't get along yet

A time will come when we will be forced to remember and not forget
It is more about your entire people than one specific set

My sister dead, my brother incarcerated
Violence is all around us and concentrated

Now we get blamed for the pistols aim
They adding more police letting go of the firemen mayne

Our property and safety are below the safety of their property
I can burn down a building but if I'm building a burn down they popping me

They full of hypocrisy
Like why you complaining nigga save you change and play the lottery

Its easy to change you situation
You know you could always move

I'll trade you my home in the suburb - they got some nerve
Then they got downtown back and change they mind on their lease and you back to the curb

Jesus may save but the police is here to serve
Allah may be all knowing but wee all don't know what we deserve

Read whatever scripture you got or feel is good for you and you will see they all teach us
We will either live in peace or just exist in pieces

Mere fragments of our full potential
And you know they really got your mind if you think its just incidental

My City

My city will have you shitty if you not about rising above self-pity

If you are not above the repercussions of your public discussions

My city will have you laughing at things most would cry about

Cry about what most would laugh about

But the city will prepare you for anywhere you find yourself

No doubt...

We have had a backlash of White Flight

They like...

Take that! with your Black Ass...

Just as fast as we try to remedy the issues from the past

We get a reverse discrimination demonstration

Like the fear of independent slave revolts by Haitians

They use patience

And treat us like patients with no insurance

No endurance because the mills polluted our lungs ever since

Like ever since we had a Black Mayor running it

They been looking for a White Mayor frontin'

And when they finally got one he took the money and

Fucking quit then went to represent

The Casinos

Because he knows = Dead Presidents

Is what it was really about

Not his electorate

Even if you scream and shout

But you should expect that shit

Especially when

He was the dope man's lawyer

Get your son off for a murder if there is no evidence

Played every Negro that swayed anyone to go that way

Like they are just so damn ignorant

Like he loved Black People just because he had a Black...chick

But that don't make no sense

See whitey been sexing sisters forever

That's why the hues between our caramel views exist

The news about my city always be on bullshit

We always get that Murder Cap Rap

Like everywhere on every block is a trap

Like nobody be on they scholastics

We all gon' end up chalked out wrapped in plastic antics

But as you hear my semantics

You can see that that was purposely planted

So it would be easier for you to take us for granted

But we in the G understand this

Your attitude controls your altitude

And the aptitude on most my dudes

Even the ones that dropped out of school

Will probably be greater than you

Because of all of the shit that we done been through

Who ain't sold rocks

Who don't raise they kids on Biggie and Pac

Who ain't had a family member shot

Or got someone they know that’s locked off the spot

Maybe never to see the block

Cause they had heat

On the street about some beef

And didn't have the strength to walk away

A moment of patience in a time of confusion

Will save you 100 days of sorrow

You can never outlast your present presence

If you didn't consider how it would affect your tomorrow

5th, 11th, 15th, 21st, 25th,

35th, 4-5, 4-9, then switch

It would be "Off the Wall" to tell y'all how

The odds were against me and I "Beat It"

But I "Never Can Say Good Bye" to the GI

The "Lady In My Life" to the "Break of Dawn"

That gives me "Butterflies" since I learned my

Before there was "Blood on the Dance Floor"

"Another Part of Me" Got with a "PYT"

That always "Wanna Be Starting Something"

So "Dangerous" It'll "Shake You Body (Down To The Ground)"

"Can You Feel It"

Between 90 and 94

They leave fast and come slow

I'm not an "Educated Fool" and I adore

"Zeros" not a super hero

And if you ask anybody I know

Don't tell on yourself

Like rain I thank the vile for making me seek myself
In a void of creativity I dare to be innovative
I find myself attempting to better my last best thought
Caught inside a void of it
I always feel like I'm reaching for something special
Places we have visited and knew we were home
Only we were not so eventually we would have to leave
This is how I feel loves plays with me
I am so sure I am home then it let's me know I am far from it
Determined not to stay where I am not welcome
I leave it like a vacation or a punishment
For the both of us we have a different interpretation of our time there
Of our time where we both played, laid and laughed
Sincerely we tried to attempt to keep each other happy
But in doing so we both became disenfranchised
Simply the easiest way to describe us is floating on the idea of love
Sinking down into the clouds of mystery wanting more we settled deep
But we never grew any roots
We lay transient and apart from those painful ideas
The ideas we have to explain before we depart
Really, no explanation is needed because we really know
We have known for quite a while that there is something incomplete here
We once thought it was worth the pain
Now we are trying to just leave the situation whole
Is anyone else out here and desperate for a change
But you are trying to do it in secret from yourself
Which you eventually see is an impossibility
